Board names Superintendent
The West Clermont Board of Education has named Dr. Keith Kline as the district’s next Superintendent. Kline replaces retiring Superintendent, Dr. Gary Brooks. Currently, Kline serves as the District’s Assistant Superintendent.
Doug Young, West Clermont Board of Education President said, "Dr. Kline is highly qualified to be our next Superintendent. He has experience in Secondary, Middle, and Primary education, as well as with aligning local instructional standards to state standards.” With a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership from Miami University, Kline led Lakota East High School to the highest ever Performance Index in the district’s history.
According to Kline, the West Clermont District must make sure that all our students are college and/or career ready. “As an educational institution, it is critical that we prepare our students for their future,” Kline said. “I know our staff will continue to work hard to assure what we offer is relevant to the world our young people will face after graduating from Amelia or Glen Este,” he added.
Kline also addressed the district’s financial stress. “While I am pleased that the board has decided to postpone putting an issue on the ballot until November, I believe that it is absolutely critical that we come together as a community to assure our school district has a sustainable financial future," Kline commented.
"In the last six months that Dr. Kline has been working for our District, he has designed a plan to save $800,000 through Central Office reorganization, comprehensive substitute services and a reorganization of the middle and high schools, Young said. "He knows how to get the job done.”
