Students and their families are invited to come to WT and meet the teachers on Thurs. Sept. 2, 2010.
Come and see where your new classroom will be and check out the new building.
Stop first in the cafeteria and pick up your student
information packet before visiting your class.
Students in grades K through 2 will meet their teachers from 6:00-7:30pm.
Students in grades 3-5 will meet their teachers from 7:00-8:30 pm.

This is a day when West Clermont Elementary School Children on the free/reduced lunch program can obtain free school supplies. Please bring either your medical card or proof of income. These will be your entry to Readyfest. If this is a problem, call your case worker. You will also need to bring proof of residency.

May 14th Building Update

Teacher Appreciation WT Fan Day

On Tuesday all teachers were asked to "break out" their best bobcat spirit outfit. Each teacher was challenged to show WT Bobcat spirit for a chance to win lunch from Skyline. Ms. Sunderman, pictured here, took the prize with her "head to toe" spirit outfit. I am sure she was happy to dress up for a chance to win her favorite lunch.

Don't forget to join us at the 5th grade musical tonight 3/30/2010 at 7:00. With Spring Break quickly approaching, our 5th grade students will sing and dance their way thru a vacation musical.

Go for the GOLD Bobcats!

I have had several parents ask me about the WT "Go for the Gold" challenge. I thought others might be wondering about our preperations for the upcoming Ohio Achievement Assessment. The challenge is actually very simple, we are asking each student to give 100% effort in all areas as they prepare to do thier best on the upcoming assessment. Each child will be evaluated on a weekly basis on individual effort and improvement. We are asking that students take their "training" for the test very seriously think like olympians do as they train for their big event. The payoff for their effort is a great outcome on the test and an opportunity to celebrate their hard work at a dance that will be held when we have completed the assessments. I am very pleased with the effort I am seeing in our classrooms! Go for the Gold Bobcats! Please let me know how you are training for the big event!

WT staff visit new WT

It was a busy week for WT staff and students! On Thursday many teachers were able to get their first tour of the new facility. It was so much fun to be the tour guide for the event. If I had to pick my favorite moment if would definitely be the reaction of Mrs. White when she entered her new music room. She was so excited she had to sing to check out the acoustics! Her voice sounded amazing, I can't wait to hear the children sing in their new space. More building photos have been posted on the website and also on my blog. Don't forget to roll those clocks forward,I don't want the children to miss out on any of the great instruction next week.

I hope you had a wonderful weekend. I thought you might enjoy this picture. Many of you know that I have a Jack Russell named Tater. When I found this picture it made me laugh. I tried to get Tater to read a book with me so Mr. Schmidt could take a picture of us to post. Tater would not sit still for the picture. I decided I would just post this picture. I am reading 2 books right now. The first is a book about school bullying titled "Please Stop Laughing at me" the other book is by Seth Godin and the title is Linchpin.I am reading Linchpin with other West Clermont staff that are involved in a book study.  I would like to know what WT students and teachers are reading. Please post what you are reading and write a little bit of information about your book.
